Duck Tours Singapore
We went to the Singapore Duck Tours Visitor’s Center at Suntec City to book our amphibious Duck Tours boat ride and Moonlight Adventure Tour. The queue was a bit long but orderly early in the morning. We were able to get our tickets within 30 minutes.
Singapore Duck Tours Amphibious Boat Ride
The 60-minute ride in the amphibious Duck Tours vehicle was the best experience we had in our Singapore trip. As we boarded in the vehicle, we got excited like kids since it’s our first time to ride such unique vehicle that can run on both land and water. The Hippo Tour guides also did a very good job and were very engaging. You should listen to the commentary of the Hippo Tour guides carefully because at some point during the tour, there will be games and those people with correct answers will be given freebies. The 60 minute ride started with a city tour then splashed to the river after for a harbour tour. This trip was super fun and highly recommended by Asiatravelbug.
DHL Hot Air Balloon Ride
After a hearty lunch in Suntec City, we rode the Heritage Hippo bus to go the the DHL Hot Air Balloon attraction. It’s actually my second time to ride the hot air balloon up to see the Singapore skyline. The 10-minute ride still amazed me and I enjoyed the feeling of gushing winds up in the air. After the Duck Tours amphibious boat ride, I have to say that this hot air balloon attraction is definitely a first runner-up among all the tours in the 2 Day Singapore Pass.
2014 Update – Unfortunately, the DHL Hot Air Balloon ride has ceased to operate effective October 2008 due to space issues and to give way to a new property development on the same site. The Singapore Flyer is a good alternative to see a bird’s eye-view of the city.
Heritage Hippo Tour
After our DHL hot balloon ride experience, we hopped on back to the Hippo Heritage Bus. It was a nice feeling to see Singapore from an open-air double decker bus as we toured around China Town and Little India in the next hour.
Moonlight Adventure (Bugis and Sentosa Songs of the Sea)
2014 Update – This tour is no longer part of the 2 Day Singapore Pass. However, the new package comes with Sentosa island admission and Rhino bus transfer to take you to Sentosa. The frequency of the Rhino bus is every 1.5 hours departing from Suntec. The admission fee of Songs of the Sea show is currently SGD 10 (~USD 8).
We boarded the bus in Suntec at 6pm just in time for the Moonlight Adventure Tour. The tour started by dropping off at Bugis, a flea market selling cheap clothings and we were given 1 hour to do what we like. We explored the place a little bit and got convinced by a fruit seller to try durian. It’s our first time to try durian and it’s not that pungent in open air. It tasted like a combination of onion and jackfruit. This is definitely one of our experiences in Singapore which we will never forget.
The bus picked us up at the agreed meeting point in Bugis after one hour and we headed for Sentosa. Since it was nearing the showtime of Songs of the Sea, we opted to purchase admission to the show since we’re there anyway. Our Hippo tourist guide led us to line up for the show and the queue was massive. We were able to get inside after 45 minutes in line. Unfortunately I did not understand the story of the show but the lighting and fountain effects were good.
After the show, it’s time to go home. The Hippo Bus drove past Chinatown, Orchard Road and Bras Basah Road before heading Suntec City. The night view from the open top double decker bus especially along Orchard Road is lovely with lots of beautiful lights. We got off at Bras Basah drop off point which is the nearest to our hotel. So this wraps up our Day 1 using the 2-Day Singapore Pass and we’re loving it. Everything seems to be perfectly arranged by the tour operator and we couldn’t believe that we completed a lot of tourist attractions in Singapore in just one day.

Hi friends! Just got back from SG a week ago and unfortunately I can’t find DHL Baloon anymore. =( I think it has ceased to operate.
Just want to give an update to those who are going to Singapore using this itinerary.
Have a happy trip. Thanks!
